Product Review Preview, Valentine’s and a Knee Update

Those fabulous people at CSN Stores has given me another opportunity to review one of there products!  Yay!  If you look back through my blog, you’ll see that I’ve reviewed items such as shoes and kitchen products, but CSN Stores has so much more.  From swing sets to bedroom sets, they have thousands of products to choose from.  Talk about one stop shopping!  Stay tuned to see what item I select this time.  Also, if you’re interested in winning a CSN Stores gift certificate, be sure to stop by my other blog!

Moving right along, I wanted to talk about Valentine’s day.  Did you all have a good one?  I sure did.  Jeremy and I are pretty laid back, so we aren’t the type of people to go out to a fancy dinner and buy expensive presents for each other on Valentines.  We must just love each other SO much throughout the whole year! (Ha! Nyah-Nyah)  Anyway, since Jeremy hasn’t been able to drive due to his knee surgery, I didn’t even expect a card from him this year.  Well, he pleasantly surprised me and when I got home from work…I found that he had baked me a PINK Valentine’s cake, had Hershey kisses all over the place and had gotten me a card.  Awwww!  As my mom would say, “What a guy, huh?”  Apparently, the Friday before, he asked our friend, Jake, if he was available to take him to Walmart, so they did a little Valentine’s shopping.  Anyway, we exchanged cards, went out to dinner at a little steakhouse in our po-dunk town, watched TV and ate cake.  In fact, I’ve been eating cake all this week.  Best. Husband. Ever.

Not gonna lie…I’m really surprise he even knew where the cake pans were.

Kisses! (And yes, I’m almost 28 years old and I keep my childhood teddy bears by my bed)

Lastly, I wanted to post a knee update.  Jeremy’s knee is doing really well and the Dr. is proud of his progress.  He’s getting his permanent brace soon (which he’ll wear for about the next year) , he off his crutches, and he’s started physical therapy.  He’s taking one more week off of work, but he’s definitely on the road to recovery!

Ewww! It still looks funny.

Juliann and Tom's Wedding!

Hello friends.  Life had been pretty busy the past few weeks and I apologize for my lack of blog posts.  Diesel had been keeping Jeremy and I busy (more about him in a post to follow), plus this weekend was my dear friend, Juliann's wedding!  Juliann and Tom got engaged over a year ago and I was quite sad that I had to wait A WHOLE year to see them walk down the aisle...but of course, their big day was here before I knew it!

The joyous, wedding festivities started Thursday afternoon with the rehearsal dinner, so I took a half day off of work and Diesel and I drove to Phoenix.  On Friday, the bride and us maids went to get manicures and pedicures, followed by lunch, gelato and Sprinkles cupcakes...YUM!  Saturday was the BIG day and us girls hung out all day at the wedding location, getting ready for the event and taking pictures.  At 5pm, the ceremony started and the wedding was absolutely beautiful!!  Everyone looked gorgeous, the colors (pink and orange) were fabulous and the atmosphere was so fun.  I didn't take a ton of pictures because I figured that's what the professional photographer was for, but here are some pics for the wedding day!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

As you can see by our new updated blog, it's time to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Yay!! Breast Cancer Awareness is a cause that I love to support, for the following reasons: 1) I have breasts. 2)I LOVE the color pink. 3) I have a small breast lump (fibroadenoma - benign and nothing to worry about).

Throughout the month of October, I've decided to post some interesting articles and facts about Breast Cancer to help educate us all, get us talking and raise money for research. There are so many ways to support this cause!

One very easy way is to have your website "
Go Pink for October." The following is from their website:

Web sites will Go Pink during the month of October to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, get people talking about breast cancer, and raise money for research.

The hope is that you turn your site pink (in whatever way works for your site), go out to that World Wide Web thing and educate yourself about the multiple issues related to Breast Cancer, then take that newfound knowledge and tell someone else what you’ve learned.

We hope that you will:
1. Turn your web site/blog pink (however you like, it’s up to you).
2. Educate yourself about the multiple issues related to breast cancer.
3. Take that newfound knowledge and teach someone else what you know.

In 2006 (our first year) was a great start with the roughly 1500 sites that Went Pink. 2007 saw roughly 3000 sites Go Pink. We are looking to make an even bigger splash in 2008, but we’ll need your help to do it.

Blog about it, invite others to join, become involved, help increase awareness, learn something new, and teach others what you know.

So, let's all do our part, GO PINK and support Breast Cancer Awareness!!

Weekend of Friends...and Stomach Aches

This past weekend was one that I'd been looking forward to for quite a while. I was heading down to Scottsdale because my dear friend, Juliann, was having her Engagement Party and I was meeting up with my other dear friend, Tiffany, for lunch!

Juliann and Tom Sawyer (yes, that's really his name) got engaged in March and are set to be married on April 18th, 2009. I'm a bit sad that I have to wait so long to partake in the wedding celebration, but I know they'll be plenty of wedding festivities along the way. For this joyous event, I shall be re-claiming my title as "Sara Bofferding: Professional Bridesmaid." Plus, I'm super excited that after 4 weddings (3 as a bridesmaid and 1 as a bride), I finally get a PINK dress! Way to pick your colors, Jules! :)

The Happy Couple: Tom & Juliann

The party was Saturday night and it was a fun get together for friends and family to hang out. We had good music, good food and good company. Plus, there were cute little pink and orange M&Ms that said, "Tommy & Juliann, 2 B Married." Awww!

Alli & Me

My parents are so cute, aren't they?

On Sunday, I met up with my best buddy, Tiffany, and her son, Benjamin. Tiff and I enjoyed a tasty lunch at Red Robin, while Benjamin sang us The Alphabet Song and refused to eat his macaroni & cheese. After lunch, we spent some time looking at my wedding pictures and saving them to Tiff's computer, so that she can print them out and feed her Scrapbooking addiction! It was a wonderful weekend in Scottsdale, eventhough Jeremy couldn't come too...

Is he not the cutest little boy...EVER!?

Mommy & Son

So...speaking of Jeremy not being able to come, this gets me to the "stomach aches" part of the blog. Saturday afternoon when Jerm got home from work, he had a bad stomach ache. If you know Jerm, you know that he pretty much ALWAYS has a stomach ache, so I didn't really think anything of it. Since he wasn't feeling well, I headed on down to Scottsdale by myself for the party and lunch the next day. When I got home on Sunday, Jeremy filled me in on the specifics of his stomach aches (I'll spare you the all the details) and it didn't seem like his typical ones. So, yesterday he went to the Dr. and in a couple of days, they are going to do a scan of his stomach to make sure everything is okay with his spleen, pancreas and other organs. If necessary, after that they'll do a scope of some sort. Hopefully, after this we'll be able to find out why Jerm always has stomach issues and he'll be able to finally be free of his aches!
