Just Call Him...Jaws

While at my parents house this past weekend, Jerm and I decided it would be a good time to take Diesel swimming.  Labs are known for being water dogs and Diesel enjoys himself while he gets a bath, so we had a feeling he'd like the pool.

The pool was clean, the weather was hot, and into the water we went.  Diesel was very skeptical of the pool at first and he would only careful creep up to the edge to sniff with curiosity.  As I got into the pool, he got more curious, but still wasn't willing to get in by himself.  So, Jeremy picked him up and place him on the first step, which only has enough water to cover him a few inches.

Well, after that...it was pretty much over.  He turned into a swimming freak at that point and he would: swim to me and Jerm, swim around the whole pool, swim over to the deep end, get out at the deep end and run back to the entry step, leap off the entry step...at me, chase us while we tried to swim next to him and fetch his ball when we threw it in.  Also, when he'd swim to us, he'd get really close and try to bite our ears or noses!!  It was the weirdest thing, not to mention painful.  That's right...we now call him "Jaws."

About to leap off the entry step at me.

Of course, the one time we're recording he keeps slipping and can't get out.

We went swimming with "Jaws" twice over the weekend, and while we were at the baseball game on Sunday, my dad took into the pool.  So, needless to say, Diesel had a very fun weekend and LOVES the water.  In fact, when we got home on Sunday afternoon, Diesel went into our bathroom and tried to get in the shower!  Silly puppy.

Finally...a New Post!

Hello friends!  Life has been pretty dull lately, so that's the reason for the lack of posts.  Just the same ole, same ole...but finally, I have something to post about!  Exciting, isn't it?

So, this past weekend, Jerm, Diesel and I went on a mini vacation to one of my favorite places in the world...Scottsdale!  The reason for the trip was that the Angels were in town playing the Diamondbacks.  For my dad's birthday, my mom got him tickets to one of the games and since Jerm loves the Angels, he wanted to go to all three games...so we did and we hung out with my family for a few days.

Diesel, getting ready to go to Scottsdale.

The first game was Friday night.  Jayla was supposed to come with us, but Kayla had prior plans, so just Jake came with us.  We ate overpriced popcorn, drank expensive water, and watched the Angels beat up on the Diamondbacks.

The Angels spanked the D'backs, 12 - 3.

Game #2 was Saturday afternoon.  My mom had bought tickets in the new "All You Can Eat Section" of the field, which was really cool.  It was on the 2nd level suite area and we got unlimited: soda, hot dogs, chips, peanuts and popcorn.  Yum!  Needless to say, the Angels won again.

Not quite the game as the night before, but the Angels still won.

The last game of the series was Sunday afternoon.  Jerm and I had great lower level seats and once again, the Angels won.  We left at the top of the 5th because the Angels were up 9 to 2, and we had to get Diesel and our stuff from my folks house, plus drive home to Prescott.  When we got to the car, we found out that the D'backs had come back and the score was 9 to 8.  What the...?!

We could only watch so much of Angels beating up the D'backs.

So, it was fun, baseball filled weekend.  I went to more baseball games over the past weekend, then I have in the past two years!  Woo!  I think I'm "baseballed out."  :)

Stay tuned tomorrow for a post about our other weekend activity...playing in the pool, with our water obsessed dog!

The Return of Zack Morris!

I follow Jimmy Fallon on Twitter, and I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find this clip from his show last night.  Saved by the Bell is one of my all time favorite shows!  I remember coming home from school and watching hours of it (2 episodes on TBS, followed by 2 more on WGN).  It was such a great show and I loved the whole gang!  I even had the SBTB board game.  Jessie was always my favorite because she was so smart and pretty and Zack was just so clue and clever.  Oh good times!  I may need to bust out my DVDs of all the seasons and reminisce.

This clip is of Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) picking up right where he left off and updating us on his life.  If you didn’t watch the show very much, you probably won’t get the half of the jokes he says, but it’s still pretty funny.  I don’t know about you…but I would SO watch a Saved by the Bell Reunion! :)
