Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows, Part 2

Tomorrow is the BIG day!  Well, tenchinally tonight at midnight is the BIG day.  The 8th and final movie of the Harry Potter franchise is being released and I am BEYOND excited to see this movie.  Though I won't be joining the crowds of crazy fans at midnight tonight, my dad and I will be seeing it on Saturday morning!! Woo hoo!

Just for fun, let's take a look at the trailers and check out the Harry Potter awesomeness, shall we?  Also, I came across the last video in my search for my the trailers and I just had to include it.  I'm not gonna lie...it made me a little teary eyed.  I know...I'm a TOTAL nerd. :)

Saremy's Vacation 2011: Day 1

Hi there!  Boy, do I have some exciting posts coming up!  You see...Jeremy and I went on vacation a few weeks ago.  But it wasn't just any vacation.  We went on a MEGA vacation to Disneyworld, Universal Studios and SeaWorld!  We had seven glorious days to take in the wonder of the Happiest Place in the World, to ride roller coaster after roller coaster, eat churros, drink Butterbeer and see the whale that ate his trainer last year.  So please, join me as we recap our vacation, one fabulous day at a time.

Day 1 - May 14th (MY BIRTHDAY!!) - Universal Studios Island of Adventure

We started out our vacation here because I was really, really, really looking forward to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and may have made Jeremy promise me that he'd take me here this year.  Little did we know, that this would be our favorite park of the whole trip.  Though Harry Potter is the main draw to this park, it also has: Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, the Lost Continent and Dr. Seuss Landing.  We rode all the big rides throughout the park and even got soaked on the water rides, but since Harry Potter is THE attraction here…let’s just focus on that.

So, I’m just going to start out by saying…this portion of Universal was AWESOME.  Simply awesome.  It was, obviously, my favorite park of our trip.  If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, you’re going to feel like you got transported into the books.  From the queue area of the rides, to the characters, to the props and even to the Butterbeer, it’s all just as I imagined Harry Potter’s world to be.  Even Jeremy liked it and he’s only read part of the first book and seen part of the first movie!

As for rides, there are two good ones here: the Dragon Challenge roller coaster (sit it the front row, it’s the best!) and of course, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (HPFJ).  HPFJ is a great ride, where you follow Harry, Ron and Herimone around the ground of Hogwarts, through the Forbidden Forest, to a Quiditch game and fight dementors.  We seriously rode it about 6 times.  In fact, Jeremy even said that HPFJ was his favorite ride out of our whole trip!

Besides the rides, the whole area of this section of the park was just cool and there is so much to look at.  The major shops that you read about in the books are there in Hogsmeade.  You can buy a chocolate frog at Honeydukes, or perhaps a wand at Olivanders.  Plus, be sure to check out the bathrooms to listen to Moaning Myrtle.  And the one must of this park: try the frozen Butterbeer!  It’s a delicious drink that is cold, refreshing and tastes like a butterscotch shortbread cookie.  Umm, yum!

I loved The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!  It was a great way to spend my birthday.  Stay tuned for Day 2 of our vacation!

Where Have We Been?

Hello friends! Jeremy, Diesel and I haven't been anywhere...we've just been really boring lately! :) But do not worry because we're leaving tonight to go on vacation for a few days and that should provide some fun blog posts. Yay for vacations! We'll be joining the Bofferding family for a few days of fun in the sun at Lake Powell. Here's to no bedbugs this year and to only minor sunburns! Also, just for fun, here are a few fun updates on our life:

1. I got the computer game, The Sims 3,...and I've gotten Jeremy addicted to it. I absolutely love The Sims and could play it for hours. In fact, a few years ago, I thought I had a problem because I would play it for many hours on end...so I did an intervention on myself and stopped "cold turkey" for a few days. I'm better now.

2. Diesel is now almost 6 months old and he's tipping the scale at 60lbs!

3. Speaking of Diesel, while we're on vacation he'll be staying at the Hassayampa Canine Resort (yea, we're "those" kind of doggie parents). He went for half a play day a few weeks ago and LOVED it, so we know he's going to have a great time there for the next four days.

4. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince comes out tonight at midnight! Who's totally stoked for this, like I am?!? I'm sad that I can't see it at midnight, like I did for the last one, but I have a date with my dad on Sunday to go see it. :)

Alright...see you all when we get back from Lake Powell.

Harry Potter Update

Alright, so I've been so preoccupied with Diesel that I failed to post information on the new Harry Potter movie!  Sara, what were you thinking?  How could you forget about Harry Potter?!  Well, there's no need to worry because I've now caught up on the news about the movie.  Below is the final trailer for the movie and I know I've said it before, but I AM SO EXCITED.  The movie comes out on July 15th.  As usual, I'm spreading my joy for HP, so please enjoy the trailer below and a few of the new movie posters!

Harry Potter Update

Alright, once again...I'm a nerd...I love Harry Potter...I just found this video on the Internet...and now I'm posting about it.  This one is my favorite book out of the series and I'm very excited for the movie!!  It looks so great, doesn't it?!?  I can't wait for it to come out!

Seriously?! It's 2009?!

Happy New Year everyone!  I can't believe that it's 2009 already!  The years are just flying by these days, aren't they?

Well, Jeremy and I just got back from our whirlwind trip through 3 states in 3 days...and we're exhausted.  Our trip started on Monday morning at 7am.  Jeremy works the mid-shift Sunday night to Monday morning, so once he got home at 6:30am and got his stuff together, we hit the road for Orange, CA.  We got to Cali around 12:30pm, had lunch with Jerm's family and then went to see a movie.  We saw the new Will Smith movie, "7 Pounds," and I do NOT recommend it.  I won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it, but it had potential to be a good movie; however, it just turned out to be a bit creepy and odd.  Oh well.  After the movie, we came home and had dinner, then opened our Christmas presents!  Next came dessert and bedtime because we had another busy day coming up.

On Tuesday, we left Cali around 10am and headed to VEGAS!!  If you refer back to my post, Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary, you'll remember that Jeremy got me tickets to see The Phantom of the Opera in Vegas on December 30th.  For our quick little trip to Vegas, we stayed at the lovely Mirage Hotel.  Our room faced the Strip and we had an awesome view.

Before heading to the show, Jeremy placed his sports bet (which he won about $52 on!) and we ate dinner.  We tried out a new, yummy burger restaurant in The Mirage called BLT Burger.  They had delicious burgers and excellent shakes!

After dinner, we headed across the street at the Venetian to see Phantom.  The show was AWESOME!  I saw Phantom on Broadway a few years ago, but I loved it so much and I knew that I had to see it in Vegas.  It is a bit shorter than the Broadway version and it's "Vegas-ified" with elaborate costumes and pyrotechnics.  To quote the website, "By incorporating special effects and enhancements made possible today by modern technology into the timeless music and story of Phantom, new audiences and loyal fans alike will be awed by and all-new Phantom."  Though I think I'm a bit bias to the Broadway version (just because I saw it first), I still loved this one.  Oh it was so good!  The actors had amazing voices, the music was incredible and as always, the Phantom won me over!  If I were Christine, I definitely would have chosen him over Raul.  Plus, even Jerm was humming some of the songs when we left!

In line for the show.

On Wednesday morning, we departed Vegas for the fabulous city of Scottsdale (oh, I love home!), to have Christmas and New Years with my family.  My parents made us a delicious dinner and then we opened presents.

After presents, we played a board game that my parents got us, Clue.  But it's not just any Clue...it's quite possibly the BEST Clue ever...it's Harry Potter Clue!

 IMG_1103[2]  IMG_1105[2]

As the night went on and our game of Harry Potter Clue finished, we had about an hour to spare before ringing in the New Year.  At this point, I was so tired and getting goofy, that I would have gladly went to bed at 11...but we stayed up.  At midnight, we toasted sparkling cider and popped a bunch of party favor poppers in the backyard.  Fun, fun!

Then, this morning we left Scottsdale around 10am, since Jerm worked today at 2pm, and as I said before, we're pooped.  So, our whirlwind trip has come to a close and it's quite possible that we'll never do it again.  Maybe I should do the holiday planning next year and not leave it up to Jerm. :)

As for presents, we both got some great stuff this year!  Jerm got a bunch of Blue-Ray DVDs, some much needed clothes, ESPN magazine and some other great stuff.  I got a ton of stuff, but I am particularly excited about my peanut butter variety pack (yes, I am a nerd and I asked for peanut butter for Christmas) and my blanket/wrap/snuggie thing (I wearing in the picture above)!  There will most likely be blogs about these to specific items in the near future, so stay tuned.

We had a great Christmas and New Years and we hope that you all did too!  Hopefully, 2009 be a great year for all our family and friends!

Nooooooooooo!

Terrible news has struck the Muggle world!  If you refer back a few posts on our blog, you will see that I posted about my excitement for the next Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."  Well, apparently the release date of the movie has been pushed back slightly... instead of coming out on November 21st, it will be coming out on... July 17th, 2009!!!

Are they kidding!?  I was so excited for only having to wait three months for the movie and now they want me to wait almost a year!  Here's just one of the articles about it: Poof! ‘Harry Potter’ Flick Bumped to Summer.  Darn those Warner Brothers people!  Oh well, at least now I have more time to re-read all the books... heck, I may even re-read them two or three times by then! :-(

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I am quite excited about this and felt the need to post it!! For those of you who truly know me, you know that I'm a nerd...after all, I did play the clarinet for 9 years and was in marching band during high school.

Well, to add to my nerdiness, I LOVE Harry Potter! Though I didn't read any of the books until 2006 (because I thought they were for kids), I proudly admit that I am 25 years old and I love the Harry Potter books and movies! I find the series to be such a fun and magical (pun intended) story that captivates the reader and totally immerses them in the story. Anyways, the 6th Harry Potter movie is coming out in November of this year and the first trailer was just released. I'm sure you are all as excited as I am, so here it is for your viewing pleasure. :) Also, I've added a "countdown" at the bottom of our blog to keep you all current on when the movie comes out.
