We're a Beer!

Jeremy and I have known this for quite sometime, but I thought it was something fun to share with the rest of you all. Plus, in my boredom one day, I Googled it and came across some fun information! So, here it is... all you ever wanted to know about BOFFERDING beer!

Brasserie Nationale is the largest brewery in Luxembourg, who also exports to Belgium, and they brew beer under the brand name BOFFERDING. The Brasserie Nationale was born in 1975 from the fusion of two breweries: The Brasserie Bofferding, founded by Jean-Baptiste Bofferding in 1842, and the Brasserie Funck-Bricher founded in 1764.

The following brands are sold under the BOFFERDING name: Bofferding Pils, Bofferding Hausbéier, Bofferding Christmas (darker beer, served only during winter) and Bofferding Fréijoersbéier (unfiltered lager, brewed only during spring).

We used to have a BOFFERDING Beer glass, but sadly it broke...so, if anyone is heading to Luxembourg, please bring us back one! :)

As you can imagine, the first year of marriage is filled with many first activities. There's the first big purchase (our washer/dryer), the first fight (over a hanger), the first plant (which sadly died 3 days after I bought it) and of course, first holidays!

Our first Thanksgiving arrived very quickly after we got married. With Jeremy's work schedule, it was difficult to spend time with either of our families, so we decided to have our first Thanksgiving together at home. Neither of us are huge fans of turkey and since cooking a turkey for only 2 people would be a bit excessive, our menu was somewhat "thanksgiving-ish" with a few changes. We had a little rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, coleslaw and rolls. Plus, our first Thanksgiving was also the first (and only) time we used our fine China! How fun, huh?
Our turkey day spread.

As our first few married monthes flew by, it was December before we knew it, and you know what that means....we needed a Christmas tree! So, we trekked on down to a little lot, not to far from our house. You'll see from the pictures, that we were dressed in our typical attire for winter. There's me, wearing as many layers as possible, plus gloves and a hoodie. While Jeremy runs around in a tshirt, shorts and flip flops!

Taking our tree home.

Triming up the tree.

Jeremy had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas (boooo!), so we opened our presents on the night of Christmas Eve. Then, we went to my family's house on Christmas day for dinner and the next day we were off to see his family in California. Talk about a busy holiday! Good thing that I got two weeks of vacation just for the holidays (it's nice working for a university!).

All ready for Christmas!

Opening presents!

Rounding out our string of first holidays, was New Years (which has always been my least favorite holiday). Sadly, Jeremy had to work at 6am on New Year's day (again, boooo!), making our New Year's Eve slightly less than eventful. So, we stayed in and watched a movie. I had assumed that we'd be staying up to watch the ball drop; however, much to my dismay Jeremy was too tired to stay up until midnight and we had to toast to the New Year at 11:30pm!! Well, I guess it was 2008 somewhere, and at least we were together. :)

Vamos!... Let's go!

Dawn quickly approached the day after our wedding, and it was time to head over to LAX at 4am, so that we could depart to Cancun for our honeymoon!

Our 8 day honeymoon was spent at the Aventura Spa Palace Resort which is an adults only all inclusive resort, located in the Riviera Maya area south of Cancun in Mexico. We had an all inclusive honeymoon package that included 7 optional excursions, 24 hour room service, dining at any of the resorts 7 restaurants, unlimted food and drinks at the pool, 2 honeymooners t-shirts and a honeymoon dinner.

We had a blast on our honeymoon! Our days started with room service breakfast delivered at the time we requested. Then, we'd spend most of our afternoons laying out by the pool, eating chips and guacamole, playing ping pong, and snorkeling & kayaking in the lagoon. Also, we took excursions to the Mayan ruins, to a barrier reef to snorkel, and to a waterpark in Cancun. Plus, one day we both went to the spa for treatments! Jeremy got a facial and a haircut, while I got a pedicure. The staff at Aventura were amazing! Everyone said 'Hola' every time we walked by them and each person was eager to serve you. And our pink wrist bands gave us away as "Honeymooners," so they were all congratulating us at every chance.

Tonight We're Gonna Party Like It's...

Our wedding reception, immediately followed the ceremony at The Orange Hill Restuarant in Orange, CA. The restaurant is located on a hill that overlooks Jeremy's hometown, and we got some great views of the city, particularly when the sun decided to break through the clouds a bit.

Eventhough the afternoon flew by and was a complete blur, we had a great time! The food was delicious, the music was good, it was wonderful to have all our family and friends together, and most importantly...after our first dance, we no longer had to remember all those dance lessons that we took! :) A very special thanks goes out to both our parents for helping everything come together, and to our friends and family who came out to celebrate with us! Lots of love to you all! Also, many thanks to Greg and Britany for driving us around, when our limo didn't show up.

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Going to the Chapel...

Jeremy and I tied the knot on Saturday, October 27, 2007, in Anaheim Hills, CA. Our ceremony was at Kindred Community Church at 10 o'clock in the morning (Yea, it was early! Especially when the hair and makeup girls came to my hotel room at 4:45am!).

The ceremony was outside in the "Oaks Wedding Chapel," which was surrounded by beautiful trees and had a long aisle down to the altar.

It was a bit overcast that morning and began to sprinkle slightly just as the bridal party walked down the aisle. Luckily, the church had provided parisols (intended to block the sun), which proved quite useful in blocking the rain drops and great for some pictures.

Though I don't think the rain really phased us, just as my big moment came and it was time for Dad and I to walk down the aisle, the rain seemed to magically stop!

It did start back up during the ceremony a bit, but it was never more than a sprinkle/drizzle. Besides, rain at a wedding is good luck, right?

More pictures from the ceremony.

Welcome to our Blog!

Well, the year is 2008 and as you all know, we're in the "age of technology." Apparently, the "in" thing to do is have a blog, so Jeremy and I have decided to give it a shot. I'm not sure who is really going to want to read about our life and adventures, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised with the outcome...

It all started on October 27, 2007...well, it actually started on April 6, 2003, but with the fading memories of Jeremy and myself, plus the fact that it was almost 5 years ago, we'll skip the boring details of our dating years; and just start from the wedding. So as I was saying, it all started on October 27, 2007, when we got married.

This is Jeremy. I'm Sara.

And this is our story!
